Health Data Sharing Authorization

Version: sharing-v2 · Effective date: October 10, 2026

This authorization explains who can see what. It supplements our Privacy Policy and our Health Data Privacy Policy.

Visible to every signed-in To Be Parents user

From the moment your profile is active, any signed-in user browsing the catalog sees: your name, your profile type and what you are here for, your age, your country, region and city, whether you are verified, your photos, and when you were last online.

If someone opens your profile, they additionally see: your height and weight, your eye colour, hair colour and hair type, your ancestry regions, whether you answered the Jewish-ancestry question, your «About you» text, your interests, your languages, your occupation, education and religion, your smoking and alcohol answers, how far you are willing to travel, and your contact preferences - both what a child could learn about you and what you want to know about a donor.

They also see the answers belonging to your role: your donation history and whether it led to a pregnancy, whether you have been pregnant yourself, who you would donate to or carry for, your number of children, your surrogacy experience, your co-parenting arrangements, and what you expect in return. Donor childhood photos, if you added them, appear in their own gallery.

We do not put profile fields behind a like or a match. If your profile is active, everything listed above is visible to any signed-in user.

Visible only inside your conversations

Direct messaging opens between you and another user. Your messages are visible only to the two of you. Your conversation with a clinic is visible to you and to that clinic’s staff. Voice and video calls are not recorded - we keep only the fact that a call happened.

Visible to clinics and other To Be Parents partners

Clinics and other partners that we have reviewed and approved see your profile to the same extent as signed-in users (see above) if you have written to the partner, the partner has replied to you, or you have shared a stage of your journey with the partner. The partner’s staff see it in their conversation with you. If you share a stage of your journey with a partner, the partner sees the tasks and dates of that stage, except tasks that only the other member of the journey does.

If you are a donor or a surrogate and answered “yes” to the question about clinics, partner clinics see your card in their catalog and what you offer as a donor or surrogate, and can write to you first. You can change your answer in your privacy settings, and you can block any partner.

Shown to no one

Your blood type and CMV status are never shown to another user or to a partner - not on your profile, not on a card, not to a match. The matching engine reads them; besides it, To Be Parents staff who hold the user-management section can see them, for support and safety.

Your exact date of birth, your email address, the precise coordinates behind your city, and your IP address are likewise never displayed.

Where local law restricts surrogacy compensation, the compensation answers are hidden from other users in that jurisdiction, regardless of this authorization.

Who else receives it

Providers who host our servers, deliver our email, moderate photos, verify identity, and measure product usage, each under a contract that allows them to act only on our instructions. Authorities where the law requires it. A successor company if To Be Parents is acquired or merged. Apart from the partners described above, nobody else.

What will never happen

We will not sell your reproductive health information, and we will not use it for advertising.

Your rights

This authorization is voluntary, and it is required to use To Be Parents: a profile nobody can see is not a service we can provide. If you decline it, we delete your account. You can withdraw later on the same terms, at any time, from your account settings or through our contact form.

If you decline before you have finished building your profile, there is nothing to keep: the account is erased immediately and completely, and the email address becomes free again at once, so you can sign up afresh whenever you like. Nothing is recoverable, because nothing is retained.

If you already have a profile, deleting the account hides it, along with your photos and your messages, from other users straight away, and everything is permanently erased within 30 days. If you change your mind inside that window, write to us through the contact form and we can restore it.

How long this authorization lasts

Until you delete your account.
